Germantown Sound Sessions

Germantown Sound Sessions is an intimate live music kickback and jam session celebrating local music and visual artistry. Perfect for a night out with local creatives, this event features three live music sets by local musicians, art displays by visual artists, and Young American Hard Cider on tap. We’re thrilled to welcome Maya Simone, Cvgebird, and WAYV Wilson to the Germantown Sound Sessions stage, bringing R&B, Hip Hop, Neo Soul, and more.

The first-ever Germantown Sound Sessions will be held at Our House Culture Center (6380 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19144) on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 7 PM to 9 PM. $15 early bird tickets are available on Eventbrite. $20 tickets will be available at the door. Maya Simone is a Philadelphia-based vocalist, composer, curator, dancer, and MC. She uses these skills to inspire, uplift, and encourage others through live performances across the U.S., with plans for international tours. Maya has collaborated with Issa Rae, Donn T, Track Masters, and Sofar Sounds.

Cvgebird (Selina Carrera) grew up in Philadelphia during the golden era of 90s hip-hop and soul. From freestyle cyphers to worldwide tours, Cvgebird blends acoustic, trap, and soul with Caribbean undertones. She also works with young people impacted by incarceration, providing a space for healing and expression.

WAYV Wilson is a multimodal artist born in Philadelphia with classical voice training. They have extensive experience across various genres, working as a background vocalist, vocal producer, and multi-instrumentalist.
