Closing Celebration of 20 (Dyke Artists) Over 40 (Years Old) Exhibit

Come to the Dyke+ ArtHaus to celebrate the last day of the 20 (Dyke Artists) Over 40 (Years Old) exhibit.

A selection of 20 out of the more than 60 artists who were part of the “Dyke+ ArtHaus Visits the Bureau” exhibit at the Bureau of General Services—Queer Division in NYC this summer.

The exhibit aims to reflect the diversity of Dykes and their art practices. The theme is the show itself.

Some pieces reflect Dyke identity or sexuality, like the work of Amina Cruz, Michelle Schapiro, and Judy Ornelos Sisneros. Others address race, cancer, and abortion like the works of Chris Cinque, shiloh burton, and lorry morales waldie, whose piece “mifepristone” uses premenopausal blood as paint on paper.

This thrice marginalized group of artists – as women, Dykes, and over-40 humans – comes front and center at the Dyke+ ArtHaus.
