An Otherwise Heaven Exhibition & Zine Launch

Heaven is often positioned as a place of eternal riches; imagined as an exclusive gated community with gold plated roads and endless mansions, heaven is made seductive through images of wealth. Glorious Blasphemy Issue 2, titled “An Otherwise Heaven,” is both a zine launch and group exhibition exploring: what can heaven be when not held hostage by the greed of the capitalist imagination? Here, we annihilate and reform heaven into a blasphemous paradise, one that centers Black/queer/trans dreaming.

The exhibition is on view on the 3rd floor of the DVAA from October 4 – October 24th. Zines are available for purchase on site at the DVAA.

The closing reception will feature a zine reading, artist talk, and open audience Q&A. The reception takes place on the 1st floor of the DVAA from 6-8pm. This is a great opprtunity to dive deeper into the themes of the exhibition and learn more about the artists’ work. This is a masked event, please wear a mask when not eating or drinking.
