Attendees will join experienced mummer suit fabricators from Golden Sunrise N.Y.A., in the Fancy Division of the Mummers Parade, to build a Fancy-style parade suit over the course of an afternoon workshop, dressing a steel frame armature in cardboard, satin, features, mirrors and other decorative materials. Attendees will learn from example suits produced by Golden Sunrise over the decades, and contribute to an artistic tradition sustained by the collective talents and mutual support of decades of Philadelphia mummers.
